Age qualification

The age group the player is qualified to play for in the current year is the age the player turns that calendar year. e.g., if a player turns 13 in November 2011 that player plays in the Under 13’s

Grading

All U10 and above players will be graded and placed in teams equal to their ability. Dates for these age groups will be advised on the club web site and in the club newsletter. Grading sessions will be at the Calwell Playing Fields. There are no guarantees of placement in any particular team and players are reminded that playing in Division 1 in one year does not guarantee them a place in Division 1 in the following year. Any parent dissatisfied with final placement can speak to the Junior Coordinator.

Equipment

The club will provide equipment to each coach for use during the season. This equipment includes items such as footballs, training equipment such as cones and football apparel including strips, goalkeeper jumpers and gloves. All apparel issued by the club to any individual, coach, team manager etc remains the property of the club and must be returned at the end of the season. Failure to return equipment may result in a fee being charged. Each player will need to wear suitable boots, shorts, socks and shin guards. BBFC shorts and socks are available at the Merchandise Shop located at the grounds, prior to the start of the season and every match day on Saturday morning. Shin pads MUST be worn at all times during grading, training and matches.

Training

Most teams will train at least once a week as determined by the coach. Once teams have been organised and the coach appointed, the coach will notify each player in the team regarding training. All players should arrive at training early so they are prepared to take the field on time. Training runs for a set time and parents are requested to collect players at the end of the training session. Parents/guardians should make themselves known to the coach prior to removing their player from training. For the safety of our young players they are not allowed to leave the pitch unless accompanied by a parent/guardian.

What if my child has a medical condition?

Players with any medical condition should make their own arrangements to ensure they are able to play safely. Players with any medical condition should complete Form T, forms are available from registration venues, the club Registrar or from the club website and must be forwarded to the Registrar. Coaches and managers need to be made aware of any medical condition that may affect any individual.
